Nepal: A new chapter

With just 0.4 hospital beds per 1,000 people and over 40% of the population living more than 30 minutes from the nearest health facility, many Nepalese struggle to access basic medical care when it’s needed most.

In 2024, we announced a partnership with One Heart Worldwide to introduce and implement the maternal and child health Care Companion Program in Nepal.

Alongside this, we’re advocating for family caregiver training to be more widely integrated into existing public health programs across multiple health conditions.

Optimized for implementation, adoption, and speed without compromising the quality of training, support, and education, this approach reduces barriers to entry while accelerating progress towards establishing family caregiving training and support as a global standard of care.

The Nepal pilot launched in February 2025 in three selected hospitals, with plans for expansion in the near future.

Nepal & Noora Health

Partnering with One Heart Worldwide, an organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safer, enables the Care Companion Program to establish a model for caregiving education in the country and support more patients and their family caregivers across Nepal.
